My name is Joseph Soulagnet (Su-la-nay) My friends call me Joe. Several years ago I started the Artful Ruminator Blog. I had fun with it as I was new to art and very excited to share on a public forum. Working a full time job, producing and studying art while trying to keep a family took its toll on the blog. This is the season I have decided to jump back into the art community.

Retirement is a fine thing. I am thankful and blessed to say it. Since my retirement my wife, Elaine, and I have been fortunate to travel the United States and abroad. I have taken a couple thousand pictures to last a life time of painting. I suppose if there is a problem it is where to start.

So, I’m planning to share my art, some of my personal philosophies, topics and art pieces of interest.

I’m very eclectic in my tastes in the arts including music. I believe that the more you study and know about a subject, the reality is that you know so little about it. Bear with me as I don’t know the answer to all the questions. I’ve never been a know-it-all type of guy. My hope is that my sharing will trigger loving discussion.

This is not a forum to espouse politics. I want to leave politics at the door as I believe it is unhealthy baggage that can be stifling to our artistic process. This will be a haven for sharing peace, love and art. I hope you find it fun and inspirational!
